What Lifetime Alterations Mean
Lifetime alterations allow you to adjust the fit of your garment as your body or preferences change over time — within the construction margins intentionally built into every piece we create.
These alterations are provided complimentary for the lifetime of the garment, subject to the terms outlined below.
Eligibility Requirements
To ensure quality control and authenticity, the following conditions must be met:
Proof of Purchase- A digital copy of your original invoice must be presented when requesting alterations.
Original Purchaser - Alterations are offered exclusively to the customer whose name appears on the invoice.
Brand Identification - All garments must retain The Suit Carriage labels. Garments without original labels will not qualify for lifetime alterations.
Margin Availability - Alterations are limited to the structural margins available in the garment. This includes size increases or reductions that can be accommodated without compromising construction integrity.
What Is Covered
Lifetime alterations primarily include:
Waist adjustments
Seat and hip adjustments
Sleeve and trouser length modifications
Jacket suppression or release within margin
Minor fit refinements achievable through original construction allowance
These services are performed to maintain optimal fit while preserving garment craftsmanship.
What Is Not Covered
Natural Wear & Fabric Condition - Lifetime alterations do not include repairs related to natural fabric wear, aging, thinning, or material degradation.
Items Not Accepted
The following items are not eligible:
Customized or embroidered items after the initial purchase
Items deemed unrepairable due to excessive damage (including heavy rips, burns, or permanent stains)
Garments presented in unclean condition (items must be cleaned prior to submission)
Turnaround Time
Alteration requests require a minimum of 14 working days for completion.
Complex adjustments or high-volume periods may extend this timeframe.
We prioritise precision over speed to ensure the garment maintains its original tailoring standards.
How to Request Lifetime Alterations
To initiate an alteration request:
Complete the Alterations Request Form
Fill in the necessary details, provide the Order number, Description of alteration required, Preferred timeslot for pickup, etc.
Our team will contact you to schedule collection or fitting.
